What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so it can recognise you on a later page or a later visit. Related technologies do the same job by other means, including local storage, session storage, tracking pixels, and web beacons.
What we currently use
None of it. As of the date at the top of this page, TruLynk Court Classes uses no cookies, no local or session storage, no pixels, and no beacons. Our typefaces are served from our own domain rather than requested from a font provider at page load, so visiting this site does not announce your visit to a third party.
Our hosting provider processes ordinary server request logs, including IP address and browser type, to serve the page and guard against abuse. That happens at the network level and does not involve storing anything in your browser.
What will change when registration opens
Once you can enroll and pay, some storage becomes unavoidable. We expect to use only the following, and we will update this page before any of it goes live:
- Strictly necessary cookies. To keep you signed in during registration, to hold your place in a form, and to protect against fraudulent submissions. These cannot be switched off without breaking enrollment.
- Payment processor cookies. Set by our payment provider on their checkout, for fraud prevention and to complete your transaction.
If we ever add analytics or anything that is not strictly necessary, we will say so here and ask for your consent first rather than setting it and mentioning it afterwards.
Controlling cookies
Every major browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and refuse new ones, usually under Privacy or Site Settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop registration from working once it exists, but it will not affect anything on this site today.
Changes
We will update this page whenever what we store changes, and the date at the top will tell you when that last happened.
